Over Memorial Day weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting a surprise 70th birthday party for a wonderful lady and her friends and family. I worked closely with the daughter-in-law of the guest of honor to create a beautiful and memorable event for this lovely lady. Coincidentally, it turns out that the guest of honor was in fact the owner, Ryan Pernice's fourth grade teacher! She was and is quite a woman as everyone so boldly attested to.
I personally loved the special touches that the hostess chose for this event. She used twine and tiny wooden clothespins to string photos from years past along windows throughout the restaurant for guests to view. A specially decorated cake was brought in as well as some of the most beautiful flower arrangements for the tables. They were simply stunning! Additionally, the hostess put together a montage of commendations, memories and messages for the guest of honor that was displayed on the cake table. What a touching and beautiful gift!
Guests enjoyed Shrimp and Grits, our Burger and house-made pimento cheese BLT made with Benton's bacon. Family style sides of collard greens and "Gas Station" Fries were also served. An open, cash bar was offered as well as Southern standbys of sweet tea and Coca-Cola products.
This event was truly beautiful and special. We loved how the guest of honor took the time to acknowledge the special people in her life during the event and the fact that she was TRULY surprised!
We love being a part of our guests special occasions and events and hope that we can host a special event for you and yours. Contact us at events@tableandmain.com to begin planning your event today!
